FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• Do I have to bring my own go kart?

  • No. We provides state-of-the-art 18–20 horsepower karts for adults and 10 horsepower karts for junior racers. Our karts reach speeds up to 45 miles per hour for adults and 20 miles per hour for kids.

• What is the difference between electric- and gas-powered karts?

  • Electric and gas-powered karts are identical in nearly every way, except for the power source. We choose to run three classes of electric gokarts because of better acceleration, more consistent performance, and quieter, cleaner operation than gas-powered engines.

• Are there special safety requirements?

  • Drivers must wear close-toed shoes. We provide drivers with proper safety helmets that must be worn while seated in their kart. No other safety gear is required. All drivers must be able to operate the karts safely. We do not recommend racing if you are pregnant, have back or neck injuries, or suffer from epilepsy. 

• Are these bumper karts? What are the rules?

  • No! These are high performance karts that are not meant for kart to kart contact. Please remember that indoor Karting is real racing and not just an amusement ride. Accidents can happen if you do not follow the rules. We cannot emphasize enough that indoor kart racing is a non-contact sport. We do not tolerate any bumping or blocking of go karts. If you are unable to pass a kart, there is no excuse for contact. If at any time during the race a kart goes under the barriers, or karts are stacked on top of each other those racers will be removed from the race without a refund. Accident's like these are avoidable with the info that is provided before racing by our Race Directors. At any time during a race if there is a severe enough wreck deemed by our Race Controller, that kart and driver will be removed with no refund. All new riders will receive a mandatory briefing session on indoor kart racing safety and regulations. Safe driving is key, and it is up to you as the driver to be safe out there. Victory Raceway has a strict, zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol and/or drug use during or before racing. Anyone who appears to be under the influence will not be permitted to race. Management has the right to remove anybody from a race if they are deemed to be unsafe to themselves or others. We do not give refunds for reckless driving.

• What do you have to do to get banned?

  • Safety is our number one goal for everybody in the building. We do not tolerate violence or verbal threats from customer to customer, or to our employees. Our employees and other customers can not feel safe if you verbally attack or attempt to physically threaten anybody. We understand emotions may run high as this is a intense sport, but if you cannot act like a decent adult we will ask you to leave or step away until you can control yourself. If we have to tell you to leave the building, please do not come back. If you have any questions about racing and bumping, please see the question above. 

• Do I have to have a Driver's License or sign a waiver to race?

  • Drivers do not have to have a driver's license, but if we do suspect a false age or name given we will require a drivers license. Every racer must sign a waiver. If the racer is under the age of 18 years old, a parent or guardian must be present to sign the waiver for them in person. If we did not require a parent/guardian in person we would have 15 – to 17-year-olds signing forms in the parking lot every day and there is no way for us to discern between those forms and ones signed by parents other than in person.
  • Waivers are legal documents and if you lie about your child’s age so that they can get in the adult karts it is insurance fraud. So, please do not lie or ask us to lie for you. Experience tells us that the vast majority of teens that are not, at least, 16 years of age are not ready to race in adult races. 

• Can I bring my own helmet?

  • Absolutely. It must be a full-face Snell/DOT approved with visor, and dirt helmets must have goggles with Lexan lenses. Street helmets must include a face shield and chin protection, and any motocross-style helmets must also be worn with the rider’s own goggles with Lexan lenses. If the certification sticker has been removed from the helmet surface, it will not be allowed.

• Can I wear my headphones or earbuds to listen to music while racing?

  • No. For the safety of you, the guests around you and our staff we need you to be able to hear us in case of an emergency, or while just simply trying to communicate to our racers. 

• Can I race with a bag or purse?

  • No. For the safety of you, the guests around you and our staff all items such as bags, fanny packs, purses, etc. must be stored prior to racing. No loose items may be taken onto the track as they can interfere with the seatbelts and kart safety. Items can fall onto the track and be either damaged or lost. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items. You may store your items in one of our lockers that take $.25, or we have a larger cabinet to use free of charge but does not lock. We also encourage racers to store items in their vehicles. Please remember to store them out of sight though!

• What else do you offer besides racing?

  • We are mainly all about racing! In our 56,000 sq ft building the 1/4 mile track takes up the majority of the space leaving not a lot of room for anything else. We have about 15-20 arcade games that take quarters. While we have change machines to break bills into quarters, we do not have an ATM or way of giving cash back so please plan accordingly. We also sell lite snack such as chips and candy bars, and beverages such as soda, tea, water, and Gatorade.

• May I use a Go-Pro mounted camera?

  • Yes. We recommend using a jaw clamp bracket to attach your camera to our karts. This method keeps your camera safe and less likely to come loose on the track. Victory Raceway is not responsible for damaged items if they fall onto the track while racing.

• Are there special requirements for kids?

  • All racers must be at least 6 years old and a minimum of 50" tall. If your child is between the 48"-52" mark, we recommend bringing your child in to get seated in a kart to see if they can safely reach the pedals. We do not have double-seater karts, so every racer must drive their own kart.  Some kids are more legs, and some kids are more torso. So just because they may be 50-51" tall, they may still be able to not reach the pedals safely. It is up to our discretion to allow kids to race or not due to safety and height. All racers must be able to operate the karts safely. Racers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a minor release liability form.

• Can my kid under the age of 16 race at the faster speed?

  • No and yes. First time racers must race at the proper speed for their age group no matter what outside experience the racer may have. This is per our insurance. We do have the ability to test racers up to the next speed level on slow days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) if they show that they can handle the kart safely by not hitting barriers/walls and maintaining good kart control on top of hitting a particular lap time proving they are actually using the speed to keep up with general traffic. There is no guarantee that they will be able to test up to the next speed level. Junior aged racers who have tested up to AM/PRO speeds in BLACK karts will pay Teen/Adult prices. Junior racers who have tested up will be treated like adults, and we expect them to be mature enough to race and follow direction.

• Do you have two-seater karts?

  • No. We try to provide the most authentic racing experience we can. All racers must safely be able to drive their own kart.

• How many drivers can race at one time?

  • We can put up to 10 drivers on the track at the same time depending on kart availability.

• When is the best time to come in?

  • Our closing times listed on our website is the time we “close” so if you wish to race you must be here and be able to register, watch the video, and run your race prior to closing. Usually that means a minimum of 30 minutes prior to closing. Our busiest day of the week is Saturday where we experience 1-2 hour waits (highly recommended to make reservations for this day!). Monday through Thursdays are our slowest days, but we can occasionally see a randomly busy day if school is out.

• What types of races do you offer? How fast do the karts go?

  • We have 3 different speeds of racing to accommodate the different ages of our racers. We schedule races in 10 minute intervals. As we offer three different speeds of racing a guest who arrives after you may be able to get on the track sooner if they are in a race speed/type that was already scheduled prior to your race speed/type. We schedule on a first come, first serve basis. Races vary between 7-9 minutes depending on the drivers on the track. 
  • Rookie Race: Our entry level race is for ages 6 years old to 13 years old and also for parents/family members who would like to race alongside the children in their group. Rookie races run at approximately 25 mph and are 8 laps on our ¼ mile track. Racers should expect to have a mixture of adults and children in their race. These races are all about fun, not competition.
  • Amateur Race: This intermediate level race is for 14 and 15 years old. It is also recommended for adults who are a bit apprehensive about traveling at full speed in our high performance karts. Racers travel at approximately 35 mph and travel 10 laps on our ¼ mile track.
  • Pro Race: Our high performance races are for ages 16 years and up. This race runs at approximately 45 mph and racers run 12 laps on our ¼ mile rack. At this speed racers need to be able to coordinate the use of brakes before turning and follow a proper racing line. The track staff will provide racers with information to help understand how to operate our karts at high speeds.

• Is there a weight limit for the karts?

  • Due to the build of the karts we have a weight limit of 300 pounds.

• Do you offer reservations?

  • Yes. You can book your races online HERE. These races are public races and require payment to reserve, and can be booked up to 2 hours in advance. We also offer private group reservations for groups of 8 or more Monday - Thursday, and groups of 10 or more Friday - Sunday. All group reservations require a 50% deposit to reserve race times and a 48 hour notice to book (up to our discretion). It is highly recommended that you book a group event if you will have 10 or more. You won’t ever have to wait for a track time and you will only race with the people in your group. Without a reservation for a large group, you will “Arrive and Drive,” or in other words, you will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.

• Can I rent the track for a private funtion or corporate event?

  • Yes. Please visit our Corporate Events page for more info on racing packages and renting our facility. 

• Do I need to pay an entry fee, even if I am not racing?

  • No. Spectators get to watch for free!

• Are outside food and drink permitted?

  • No. If you purchase an advanced party package and space rental, an outside dessert is permitted. You can see a list of our catering options HERE.
  • We offer lite snacks to purchase such as bagged chips and candy. Bottled beverages like soda, tea, water and Gatorade are available to purchase.
